5:30A-9 All News All Morning  with Bernadette Lee

“I have been in radio for 14 years, all here in the Lafayette market. I actually started working in radio shortly after being hired for a news internship with KPEL radio in 1993. While working in the news business, and as the traffic reporter for 99.9 KTDY, I have learned how much I enjoy informing and entertaining people. When I am not cracking jokes, poking fun at myself, or giving the public their daily dose of news, I am at home spending time with my dog Buddy. I am a huge animal lover!”

“Born and raised in Lafayette, it's great to be on KPEL 105.1 after 38 years in broadcasting.  In one form or another I've been in broadcasting most of my adult life...if you can call broadcasting "an adult life".Even while in the U. S. Army I spent three years listening to radio almost every waking minute around the world to keep in touch and learn.
It's been said you can not grow up and be a DJ but I think I've proven you can grow older and not grow up. Joining KPEL 105.1 I've been able to reconnect to my hometown and broadcasting, two things that are very dear to me. Working with Bernie in the morning is a great team experience.

Suzanne Ferrara

Suzanne Ferrara is a reporter for KPEL NewsRadio FM 105.1.  A broadcasting veteran with 20 years in the business, Suzanne began her career at WWL-TV in New Orleans, while attending Loyola University.    She left New Orleans for a news anchor job with WSEE-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania.  Missing South Louisiana, she took a job as a reporter for KATC-TV in Lafayette; two years later, she returned to her birth place, and joined the news team at WDSU-TV in New Orleans. In 1998, Suzanne took a job as a reporter for WAFB in Baton Rouge to be closer to Lafayette where her husband, former TV news anchor Scott Brazda was living.  From there she followed her heart and returned to Lafayette's KATC-TV as a senior reporter.   Suzanne Ferrara has earned associated press awards and has covered numerous big stories; she is particularly proud of her coverage of the New Orleans Mississippi River barge accident which she reported live on CNBC.   When KPEL program director Tonya LaCoste, a former co-worker of Suzanne's, asked her to join the FM-105.1 news team in 2008, it didn't take much convincing:  Suzanne has long been an admirer of Ms. LaCoste’s work.  Suzanne and her husband Scott are the proud parents of nine year old daughter Sophia and eighteen month old son Nick.
