DeSoto Parish Deputies Searching For Missing Skydiver

Deputies in DeSoto Parish have called in air support to help search
for a skydiver who may have gone come down in Toledo Bend reservoir.
Someone called the sheriff's office around 4 to say they saw a
parachute go into the water. Boats are in the reservoir looking now.
A State Police helicopter will join in the search.

Ten Year Old Murder Case Solved

A ten-year-old murder in New Orleans is solved. Forty-two-year-old
Andy Joe Ervin is currently serving time in Mississipi. He's pleaded
guilty to manslaughter of 51-year-old Dr. David Sexton, in his home,
in 1999--rather than face a possible death sentence on a
first-degree murder charge.

Police Investigate Shooting Death

(Baton Rouge, LA)  --  Baton Rouge police are looking for clues in the fatal shooting of a woman.  Authorities say 33-year-old Shelva Glasper was shot multiple times and left to die in a ditch in the city's Istrouma [[iss-TROO-muh]] section.  She was pronounced dead at the scene after police found her around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.  Officials say no suspects have been identified and a motive for the shooting is unknown.

Man Shot To Death In New Orleans

(New Orleans, LA)  --  Police say a man was found shot to death late Sunday night in New Orleans' Central City section.  Authorities say the 21-year-old victim was found lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police have identified no suspects or motive.
