Man Carjacked, Pistol-Whipped After Being Hit With Beer Bottle
(Baton Rouge, LA) -- The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a carjacking and robbery early Wednesday morning in the 86-hundred-block of Orleans in Gravier. They say the unidentified victim was hit by a beer bottle thrown by one of five black men through the driver's side window of his 1996 Ford Mustang. Another Penny Drop In the Average Price Of Regular
(Baton Rouge, LA) -- Another day, another penny drop in the average price of regular in Louisiana. Triple-A says the fuel is now averaging three-68 statewide. While that's down one-cent from Wednesday, it's still almost a dime higher compared to a month ago. And, a year ago today, regular was averaging two-73 in Louisiana. Around the state, the average price of regular is three-66 in Baton Rouge, three-72 in Lafayette, three-63 in Lake Charles, three-67 in New Orleans and three-61 in Shreveport. Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Life In East Baton Rouge Parish
(Baton Rouge, LA) -- A Jackson, Louisiana man suffered fatal injuries yesterday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 61 in East Baton Rouge Parish. State Police Sergeant Markus Smith says 59-year-old Rudolph Garcia was killed when the Chevy Suburban he was a passenger in left the roadway. The driver, 25-year-old Danielle Summers, also of Jackson, overcorrected, and the SUV rolled, partially ejecting Garcia from the vehicle. Summers was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Alcohol is not a suspected factor in the accident. Gas Prices Still Falling Across Louisiana
(Baton Rouge, LA) -- Another penny has been shaved off the average price of regular in Louisiana. The penny decrease compared to Tuesday, places the average cost of regular in Louisiana at three-69 a gallon. That's still about nine-cents higher than a month ago, and way higher than the average of two-72 motorists were shelling out a year ago. Checking some of the metro areas, while regular continues to average three-68 in New Orleans, the average dropped today in Baton Rouge to three-66 and three-72 in Lafayette. A New Plan For Kenner
(Kenner, LA) -- What should Kenner look like in the future? The Kenner Planning Commission today unveils a comprehensive land use plan. Officials say they worked with the University of New Orleans to develop a new master plan. Planning Director Jay Hebert says in the past, Kenner wasn't developed with any particular plan.
