Woman Found Dead In Pickup
New Orleans police say a 51-year-old woman was shot to death while
driving her pickup on Interstate 10 early this morning. Her maroon
truck was stopped on the sided of the highway; the window shot out
from outside, and the woman dead inside. Police say she was carrying
no ID. They have no suspect nor motive at this time.

Lawmaker Wants Definition of a Crime Expanded
A Shreveport lawmaker proposes legislation to expand the definition of the crime of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Representative Thomas Carmody says current state law forbids adults from using electronic means to deliver lewd messages to minors. Carmody says the law mentions nothing about face-to-face encounters and so the law must be expanded.

Lawmaker's Son Dies in Auto Accident
The son of Houma state lawmaker Gordon Dove Senior died over the
weekend in a single vehicle car accident on Interstate 310. State
Police say 23-year-old Gordon Dove Junior's S-U-V crashed into a
guadrail and flipped several times. Investigators say Dove was not
wearing a seat belt.

Flooding Damages Military Relics
Flooding last week in Terrebonne Parish damaged relics at the
Regional Military Museum in Houma. Officials say two feet of
water in the rear of the building submerged World War Two-era
uniforms, displays, rifles, field telephones and a new digital
projector. Museum founder C.J. Christ says some of the items will
be expensive to replace, while others cannot be replaced.

Multi-car Crash Caused By Woman
A six car crash on I-55 in Tangipahoa Parish over the weekend was
caused by a woman driving south in the northbound lanes. 34-year-old
Shawna Cyprian, of Hammond, slammed into an oncoming car; triggering
the multi-car pile up. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
