New Orleans Shelter in Danger of Closing Post-Katrina debts and a decline in donations could force a New Orleans shelter for unmarried teenage mothers to close. That's the assessment of Lisa White, assistant director of Liberty House. White says the shelter has struggled to make ends meet since Hurricane Katrina devistated the city.

LSU Fans Not in in Force in Atlanta for Chick-Fil-A Bowl LSU wanted its fans to paint Atlanta purple and gold for tonight's Chick-Fil-A Bowl, but Tiger Rag Magazine correspondent Matt Moscona--who's in Atlanta--says you'd scarcely tell there's a game on tap. Moscona says the disappointing season has led to a low-key atmosphere. Moscona says he's not seeing much Purple and Gold around Atlanta at all.

Metairie Man Charged with Manslaughter A Metairie man, who lived with his dead father's remains shut away in dad's bedroom for over two years, pleads not guilty to manslaughter charges. 58-year-old Lon Adams told a newspaper he never hurt his dad, but left the body in a bedroom for 2 years because he couldn't deal with the loss. "Drive In" Gets Whole New Meaning at Old Metairie Walgreens Shoppers at an Old Metairie Walgreen's were shocked, but not injured when a 95-year-old women drove her car into the building. The woman's car didn't crash right through into the store, but it did make a sizeable hole in the wall. The lady told police she just couldn't stop.

Baton Rouge Police Investigating Apparent Double Murder Baton Rouge police are investigating an apparent double murder that happened in the Capitol City late Monday night in the northern part of the city. Police spokesman Captain Carl Kelly said one man was pronounced dead at the scene and a second victim died a short time later at a local hospital. A third man was shot in the leg and his condition isn't known at this time. Police are looking for the shooter who left the scene in a burgundy vehicle.
