President Of Beverage Company Touting Anti-Hangover Drink

A new beverage--touted as an anti-hangover drink--will soon be on
store shelves in Louisiana. Scott Slocum is president of Fusion
Beverages, the makers of Resurrection--a beand new herbal hangover
remedy. Slocum says G & G Distributing in Bossier City, a leading
beer distributor in the state, will be placing the product in retail
outlets. Slocum says Resurrection is an herbal-based, non-caffeinated drink
that blocks the flu-like symptoms--the headache, nausea and
discomfort--that often come from indulging in alcohol.

Man Arrested Following Attack With Box Cutter

(Lafayette, LA)  --  Authorities say a Crowley man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing at a Lowe's store in Lafayette.  Police say 49-year-old Horace Felix faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder after being accused of stabbing a co-worker with a box cutter Wednesday night.  The name of the victim, a 21-year-old Arnaudville man, has not been released.

Fuel Prices Rise Again

(New Orleans, LA)  --  Another rise in prices at the gas pump.  Triple-A reports the average in Louisiana for self-serve regular went up nearly a penny overnight, to two-61-point-6 per gallon.  That's a dime above the average of a week ago.  At this time last year, motorists in Louisiana were paying an average of about one-point-79 for regular.

Murder Suspect Captured In Virginia

(Newport News, VA)  --  Authorities say a man who was at the top of Abbeville's "Most Wanted" list has been apprehended in Newport News, Virginia.  Abbeville police say 25-year-old Jamal Diggs was wanted for second-degree murder in the December shooting death of D'Jacquaney Mitchel.  Police Chief Rick Coleman says the two men were involved in an argument when Diggs allegedly pulled a gun and fired a shot at Mitchel, who fell to the ground.  Coleman says Diggs is accused of standing over Mitchel and firing two more shots.  Coleman says U.S. marshals tracked Diggs to relatives in Virginia.  Diggs awaits extradition back to Abbeville.

Second Person Involved In Acadia Parish Crash Dies

(Lafayette, LA)  --  A second person involved in a crash on Interstate 10 in Acadia Parish has died.  Seventeen-year-old Aaron Richard [[REE-shard]], of Branch, died Wednesday at a Lafayette hospital.  Eighteen-year-old Benjamin Guidry, of Church Point, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place Tuesday afternoon near Rayne.  State troopers say a car, driven by 17-year-old Brennan Sonnier, of Church Point, went out of control after it clipped the rear of a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Megal Collum, of San Antonio, Texas.  Guidry and Richard were passengers in Sonnier's vehicle, which hit a tree after traveling off the roadway.  Collum was not injured.  Sonnier suffered moderate injuries.  State police say the crash remains under investigation.
