Democratic Louisiana State Senator Derrick Shepherd was ordered Monday by a federal judge to spend the night in a half-way house pending a hearing today in U.S. District Court in New Orleans. Federal prosecutors are seeking to have Shepherd's bond revoked following his arrest on felony charges over the weekend for assaulting his former girlfriend. The bond in question relates to his indictment this past April on mail fraud and money laundering charges.
