Millions Going To Farmers Flooding Their Fields
The government is doling out $20-million to farmers in eight states, including Louisiana, to create habitats for migratory birds whose usual Gulf wintering spots may be fouled by the massive BP oil spill.

Ouachita Parish Considering Four-Day School Week
|

|
Ouachita Parish is considering going to a four-day school week, to
help save of energy and operational costs. A school board member is
seeking a study of just how much the parish could save by going to
four longer days of school. About 100 school districts across the US
have already adopted 4-day school.
