The government is doling out $20-million to farmers in eight states, including Louisiana, to create habitats for migratory birds whose usual Gulf wintering spots may be fouled by the massive BP oil spill.

Hummer Production To Resume On A Temporary Basis At Shreveport Plant
|
|
|
(Shreveport, LA) -- General Motors has announced production of Hummer models at its Shreveport assembly plant will soon resume, albeit temporarily. The automaker recently received an order from a fleet company for more than 800 H3 and H3T models. GM officials say the vehicles will be built between April 12th and May 13th. The production schedule negates a previously-scheduled two-week shutdown at the plant slated to start the first week of May. |
