(Lake Charles, LA) -- Calcasieu Parish authorities say a Lake Charles woman faces multiple counts of cruelty to a juvenile after a malnourished nine-year-old boy was found to have been severely abused. Deputies say the boy's stepmother, 27-year-old Jaime Day, was keeping the boy in a filthy room and depriving him of food. Authorities say the boy weighed only 38 pounds when he was found. Day is charged with 255 counts of cruelty to a juvenile and two counts of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. Bond has been set at five-point-five million dollars. The boy's biological father, Murry Day, faces five counts of cruelty to a juvenile and one count of second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. His bond has been set at two-million.
