 An oil platform exploded and burned off the Louisiana coast Thursday, the second such disaster in the Gulf of Mexico in less than five months.

Woman Shot To Death At Hotel

(New Orleans, LA) -- Police say a woman was fatally shot Tuesday night in a room at a hotel on New Orleans' Canal Street. Authorities say by the time police officers arrived, 20-year-old Kenyra Johnson of New Orleans was in the lobby of the hotel. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died. Police say it's unclear how Johnson got from the fourth-floor room, where she had been shot, to the lobby. Hotel guests were told to wait outside as detectives gathered crime-scene evidence. Investigators have not identified any suspects. |
