The Senate overwhelmingly agrees to restructure the way LSU-run public hospitals are paid for caring for the uninsured. The re-worked formula would strip money from the New Orleans hospital, commonly called a charity hospital, and shuffle the dollars to the other LSU hospitals around south Louisiana. The restructuring would be fully phased in within six years.
