Millions Going To Farmers Flooding Their Fields
The government is doling out $20-million to farmers in eight states, including Louisiana, to create habitats for migratory birds whose usual Gulf wintering spots may be fouled by the massive BP oil spill.

DEQ Investigating Caddo Cow Deaths
|
|
|
The state Department of Environmental Quality says its investigation into cattle deaths in southern Caddo Parish is focusing on an unidentified substance found in pools of rainwater near the natural gas well where the cows died. DEQ regional manager Otis Randle says it's believed the cattle drank from the pools. Nineteen cows were found dead Tuesday.
