Louisiana has its first human case of West Nile virus for 2008. Department of Health and Hospitals spokeswoman Jolie Adams says it's a Livingston Parish man, and the virus was discovered when he went to donate blood. This man is NOT sick from the virus, and the early discovery is good. She says it's a sign the state's year-round watch on West Nile is working. The early spring discovery of West Nile is a reminder to take precautions against mosquito bites.
