Millions Going To Farmers Flooding Their Fields
The government is doling out $20-million to farmers in eight states, including Louisiana, to create habitats for migratory birds whose usual Gulf wintering spots may be fouled by the massive BP oil spill.

Baton Rouge Police Investigating Apparent Double Murder
|
|
|
Baton Rouge police are investigating an apparent double murder that happened in the Capitol City late last night in the northern part of the city. Police spokesman Captain Carl Kelly said one man was pronounced dead at the scene and a second victim died a short time later at a local hospital. A third man was shot in the leg and his condition isn't known at this time. Police are looking for the shooter who left the scene in a burgundy vehicle.
