 Mobile Home Park Ordinance Approved

New standards for mobile home parks in Lafayette Parish have been approved unanimously by the City-Parish Council. The ordinance requires that all new mobile home parks cover at least ten acres, that each lot be at least five-thousand square feet, and that the parks have paved streets and sidewalks. Also, ten percent of each development must be devoted to recreation. The ordinance applies only to new mobile home parks, not existing ones. Enactment of the ordinance effectively lifts a five-month moratorium on new mobile home park developments.
