The Lafayette City-Parish Council is slated today to receive a presentation of City-Parish President Joey Durel's budget proposal for the fiscal year that starts November 1st. Council members say the budget may include a proposal for pay increases for city-parish employees, as well as setting market-based pay schedules for certain professionals employed by Lafayette Consolidated Government, including engineers. The budget will be presented today at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium at LCG's main office on University Avenue, and the public is invited.
