Camelia Boulevard Extension Nears Completion
City-Parish Public Works officials say a 13-point-four-million-dollar project to extend Camellia Boulevard from Kaliste Saloom Road to Verot School Road is nearly finished. Public Works Director Tom Carroll says the extension could be ready for traffic by March. The project includes four retention ponds designed to hold runoff from the new stretch of Camellia Boulevard and alleviate drainage problems in the vicinity. The ponds will also be surrounded by walking paths and will have lighting and parking areas. As part of the project, Bluebird Drive near Comeaux High School is also being extended to tie into the new section of Camellia Boulevard. |
