Eight jurors were chosen Monday to hear the trial of Brian Verret, who's accused of causing a September 2006 wreck on Ambassador Caffery Parkway that killed four people. The jury will decide whether Verret should receive a prison sentence for the accident that killed James and Danielle Thibodeaux, Jeremy Meche [[mesh]] and Sunshine Jasek. Verret's attorney, Gerald Block had previously filed a motion to have Verret's charges dismissed, saying pre-trial publicity diminished any chance of a fair trial in Lafayette Parish. Much of the media coverage of the case has focused on whether the wreck was caused by a street race.
