Kennedy Mentioned In Reference To Bill
The sponsor of a bill proposing that groups receiving legislative earmarks to disclose who they are and what they'd use the money for, says radio ads supporting the bill and featuring State Treasurer John Kennedy may have actually hurt the bill's chances of passage. Jenning Representative Dan "Blade" Morrish says some lawmakers tied Kennedy's support as a type of campaign tactic for his run for U.s. Senate. Morrish says he doesn't think that was the sole reason the bill failed to win approval in the House and Governmental Affairs Committee Tuesday. Moorish says he'll keep trying to get the bill through the House before the legislative session ends June 23. |
