 Senate Votes To Reverse Stelly

By a vote of 38-to-nothing Tuesday afternoon the Louisiana Senate gave the final legislative approval needed to eliminate tax increases included in the 2002 Stelly Plan. Governor Bobby Jindal is expected to sign the bill. Taxpayers are expected to reap more than 300-million-dollars a year in tax cuts that take effect January 2009. The savings are expected to top out at 500-dollars for a single-taxpayer and one-thousand-dollars for married couples.
