Lafayette Company Hopes To Settle Lawsuit

(Lafayette, LA)  --  The head of a Lafayette-based company says he hopes a lawsuit filed against search engine giant Google will be settled before it heads to court.  Firefly Digital president and CEO Mike Spears says his firm is, however, prepared to fight what he believes is an infringement of trademarks on the part of Google.  Firefly contends that Google has adopted the terms Website Gadget and Gadget, for which state and federal trademarks are owned by the Lafayette company.  Spears says if the case it not settled out of court, it could turn into a battle of "David and Goliath" proportions.
