 Letters Going Out About Insurance

Many south Louisinaa homeowners are getting letters about their property insurance as new companies start taking over Citizens Insurance policies starting Monday. The group Depopulation of Citizens, says it's all part of the state's incentive plan for new insurers. Those who receive the letters should consult with their property insurance agent, since they'll be choosing coverage for the next 5 years. The state "bonus" program requires these companies to cover these homes for at LEAST 5 years. Property owners can opt out of the program, by signing a form included with their letters, but the whole point is to help homeowners in the hurricane zones get more affordable coverage.
