Plane Crashes North of Abbeville
|

Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputies have secured the area surrounding last night's crash of a small plane about five miles north of Abbeville. Authorities say deputies arrived at the crash on Louisiana Highway-82 around 8:42. Sheriff's Colonel Kirk Firth says no survivors have been found. No names have been released, and it's not clear how many people were aboard the single-engine aircraft. The plane went down in the vicinity of a natural gas storage facility. Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board personnel will be on the scene today to investiga
