Iberia Sheriff's Deputies responded to Ward Street last night to find 42 year-old Kern Gaudet in the carport area of the home, and he had been shot several times. Gaudet later died at a hospital. Police says Gaudet was visiting his grandmother when he went inside to check out a suspicious noise. Later shots rang out. Police says the investigation is ongoing.
