A citizen's group is calling for help from a planning firm to help develop a master plan for Lafayette Parish building and facility needs. Sarah Walker, who chairs the Community Coalition for Lafayette Schools, says representatives from a Baton Rouge firm will be on hand when the Lafayette Parish School Board and coalition members meet on June 10th. The firm, CSRS, has experience in working with schools. Walker says she hopes the school board will consider hiring a professional firm to help the school district's building plans move forward. She says some schools will need wholesale rebuilding, while others only need updating and replacement of portable buildings.
