Woman Dies In Highway 93 Crash

State police say a woman from Sunset died Sunday in a three-vehicle crash in the community of Vatican.  Troopers say a car heading north on Louisiana Highway 93 was struck by an SUV that failed to yield after stopping at a stop sign at the intersection with Vatican Road.  Authorities say the car then crossed the center line and slammed head-on into a pickup truck that was was preparing to turn left onto Vatican Road.  Troop I officials say the collision killed 68-year-old Nellie Suarez.  She was a passenger in the car driven by 68-year-old Tommy Suarez, who suffered moderate injuries.  The driver of the SUV, Connie Blackard of Slaughter, also suffered moderate injuries.  The driver of the pickup, 51-year-old Paul Royer of Scott, was uninjured.  Troopers say neither of the Suarezes was wearing a seat belt.
