 RedFlex To Contest Decision

RedFlex Traffic Systems, the parent company of the SafeSpeed and SafeLight Lafayette programs, is appealing a ruling by the state Board of Private Investigator Examiners. The ruling is that the company must have Louisiana private investigator's licenses to operate the vans that monitor the speeds of motorists in the city. An attorney representing RedFlex says a judge has issued a stay on the board ruling, and that allows the two SafeSpeed vans to continue operating. Attorney Max Kees says RedFlex disagrees with the board's argument that the vans' operators are conducting the work of a private investigator. A hearing on the matter is expected in a few weeks.
