Jindal's Executive Counsel Resigns

(Baton Rouge, LA) -- Governor Bobby Jindal's executive counsel is resigning from his post to run for a vacant seat on the Louisiana Supreme Court. Jimmy Faircloth, an attorney from Pineville, says his resignation will take affect at the end of business on July 10th. Faircloth will run against Fourth District Judge Marcus Clark for the seat. Faircloth was appointed by Jindal in January 2008 to serve as executive counsel.

One Dead In Early Morning Shooting
Baton Rouge police report that officers responded to a shooting about 3:30 Thursday morning in the 1500 block of North Marque Ann Drive where they found a black male lying in a parking lot who had been shot.
