School Board Approves Pay Schedule
|
|
|

(Lafayette, LA) -- The Lafayette Parish School Board has voted to approve
the teacher salary schedule for the 2009-10 school year. Under the
schedule, teachers will not receive a raise from the parish in the coming
year, but will get a step increase from the state, based on seniority. School
system officials say a drop in local tax revenue has made it necessary to
freeze salaries on the parish level. The vote to accept the pay schedule was
unanimous.
