State House Passes Parental Culpability Bill
|
|
|

After heated debate, the House approves a bill that would allow judges to sentence parents to community service for failing to control children who get into trouble with the law. New Orlens Representative Walker Hines says his bill is intended to provide a wake-up call to parents who fail to reign in their kids. Opponents say the bill would unfairly punish parents for things their children did wrong. The bill passed by a wide margin and heads to the Senate for consideration. |
