Look for the deals. Many Louisiana retailers will offer deals over the next several weeks to try and get customers to spend their federal rebate checks in their stores. Dawn Johnson, executive director of the Louisiana Retailers Association, says national studies show 21-percent of households plan to use their rebate check on purchasing an item at a store, so there will be deals to be had.
