Police Arrest Murder Suspect

|
Opelousas police have made an arrest in connection with the city's first homicide of the year. Authorities say Lawrence "Junior Boy" Batiste, Jr. was stabbed to death Sunday morning. His body was found near the door of a residence in the 800 block of Pulford Street. Police have arrested 30-year-old Corey Rosette on a charge of second-degree murder. Opelousas Police Captain Martin McLendon says Rosette has a long police record which includes a number of drug arrests. |
