(Lafayette, LA)  --  The first formulated pay raise for coaches of athletic and extracurricular activities has been approved by the Lafayette Parish School Board.  Coaches of major high school sports will receive an average annual stipend increase of 600 dollars, and coaches of minor sports will get an average increase of 120 dollars.  Band directors will see an average increase of 432 dollars.  Officials say the pay increases place salaries for coaches in the Lafayette Parish school system in the middle of the pack among coaches in Acadiana.
