$40-million headed to LA to help rebuild and restore fishing industry

|
40 million dollars of Federal money from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminstration is headed to Louisiana to help rebuild and restore the fishing industry, following hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Napoleonville Congressman Charlie Melancon says oystermen, shrimpers, and fishermen, who were just getting back to normal after Katrina and Rita, now again find themselves without docks, icehouses, and fueling stations. Melancon says the help is desperately needed, especially since federal aid for fisheries has only trickled in since Katrina and Rita. |
