Lafayette School Board Revises Revenue Plan

The Lafayette Parish School Board has approved a plan that revises how excess revenue from a 2002 half-cent tax fund is passed out among eligible teachers.  The plan calls for a one-thousand-dollar increase to be applied the the school district's teacher salary schedule starting with the next school year.  The remainder will be distributed in a lump sum, which means eligible teachers will receive an extra 822 dollars in their paychecks in May.
