An update on longtime Lafayette Utilities System employee - Tracey Dalfrey of Carencro - accused of creating bogus businesses and contracts worth more than 740-thousand-dollars. Dalfrey's attorney says his client is filing for early retirment through the state's municipal retirement system. City-Parish president Joey Durel says Dalfrey skipped a required civil service hearing yesterday. Instead, his attorney sent a fax stating Dalfrey would not be there. Durel says while Dalfrey is eligible for early retirement, but according to Civil Service rules LCG can....and ....is witholding unused sick leave and severance pay - which is usually paid to retirees. Dalfrey is accused of creating three bogus businesses, then using them to submit bids to sell equipment to the government - over the past two years.
