 Castration Bill Moves Forward

The state Senate approves a bill that allows chemical and, in some cases, physical castration as punishment for some sex offenders. Abbeville Senator Nick Gautreaux says his bill would give judges discretion in deciding who would get injections of a drug that deadens male sex drive. Gautreaux's bill also sets up additional jail time for any sex offender who refuses to submit. Gautreaux's bill passed by a 32-to-3 vote, and will move now to the House.
