3rd District Congressman Charlie Melancon will join President Bush and other members of Congress at the White House today in welcoming Pope Benedict the 16th to the U-S . Melancon says he's thrilled to be a part of it of the South Lawn ceremony which is slated to get underway later this morning. Melancon says, as a devout Catholic himslef, he's honored to welcome the pontiff. Melancon says he had the priviledge of witnessing Pope Benedict's inaugeral mass in Rome in 2005.
