Lafayette Soldier Dies in Baghdad
|

The Department of Defense has confirmed the death of another Louisiana soldier during combat operations in Iraq. Officials say 27-year-old Army Sergeant Joseph Richard the Third of Lafayette died Monday from injuries receive when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion at Fort Polk.
