The Lafayette City-Parish Council will have a special meeting Wednesday night dealing with back-pay for police, firefighters and city marshal's employees. City-Parish President Joey Durel will present a resolution asking the council to allow a settlement of the ongoing lawsuit. The resolution encourages payment of the principal amount the court has determined to be withheld from the plaintiffs. During last week's State of the Parish address, Durel said he would present the resolution to the council this week.
