The Carencro Fire Department has received a grant of nearly 60-thousand dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Assistance to Firefighters Grant will help the department receive training, buy equipment and conduct first responder health and safety programs. AFG awards totaling 490-million dollars will be distributed to fire departments and emergency medical service organizations throughout the country.
