 McCain Gets Delegates

Most of Louisiana's delegates to the Republican National Convention have made commitments to the party's presidential frontrunner, Senator John McCain.  This comes despite the win by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in the February 9th Louisiana Presidential Primary.  Huckabee won with 43 percent of the vote, compared to McCain's 42 percent.  Because neither candidate had more than 50 percent of the vote, all of Louisiana's delegates were officially uncommitted.  After delegates were chosen at the Republican Party of Louisiana State Convention over the weekend, an overwhelming majority of those delegates committed to McCain.  Louisiana GOP Chairman Roger Villere [[ VILL-er-ee ]] says McCain is now the presumptive nominee and it's time for the party to unite behind the Arizona senator.
