A new series of initiatives that will help at-risk borrowers keep up their house payments has been announced by Citigroup. Among the initiatives are reducing interest rates, increasing the term of the loan and, in some cases, reducing the principal before delinquency.
The passage of Proposition 8 by California voters is being challenged. The "Washington Post" reports opponents of the measure to ban same-sex marriage in the state will use an unusual tactic with the state Supreme Court. Iran has released from prison a Cal State Northridge graduate student after posting 200-thousand-dollars bail. Twenty-eight-year-old Esha Momeni was in the country to research a master's thesis when she was arrested last month. Momeni holds dual U.S. and Iranian citizenship and was recording interviews with women's rights activists as part of a master's project when she was taken into custody.
