Bossier City police to hide in the back rooms of stores to keep bad guys guessing Bossier City police will once-again crack down on the annual rise in armed robberies at holiday time, as they deploy their Shotgun Squad to random locations. Spokesman Mark Natale says shotgun-wielding cops will be hiding in stores' back rooms and walk-in refrigerators--the object being to keep would-be bad guys guessing. State Health Officials Now Require Reports Of Carbon Monoxide Incidents
(Baton Rouge, LA) -- The Department of Health and Hospitals is now requiring that all cases of carbon monoxide exposure or poisoning be reported to the State Health Officer within five business days of an incident. The decision was made due to the high number of carbon monoxide-related poisonings during the winter months and during hurricane-related power outages and the increased use of generators. On average, about five deaths occur statewide each year because of non-fire-related carbon monoxide poisonings and the number of exposures called into the state's Poison Control Center average about 100 a year.
