Teens Shot

Detectives in Baton Rouge are trying to sort out just how four teenagers came to be shot Wednesday night on Conrad Street. Sergeant Don Kelly says one of the victims, 20-year-old Dexter Varise, is believed to have been fatally shot after he got out of a parked vehicle and fired on two suspects in dreadlocks who shot and wounded three other teens during an attempted robbery. The two suspects fled and Kelly says one may have been shot in the exchange of gunfire with Varise.

No Word On What Sparked Fire

No word so far on what sparked a two-alarm fire that gutted a former bank building on Tom Drive in Baton Rouge that had been converted into a reception hall used for weddings and the like. The blaze erupted about 7 p.m. at the business named A Southern Touch of Class. No injuries were reported.

Charges Reduced For Ferriday Teen

Charges have been reduced for a Ferriday teen accused of killing his parents and a friend last year. A Concordia parish grand jury dropped Connor Woods three counts of 1st degree murder, to 2nd degree murder. His trial starts in April.

5 Year Old Shot

Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley promises more patrols in a Donaldsonville neighborhood where an adult man and 5-year-old boy were shot with an assault rifle last weekend. The Ascension sheriff's Department acts as city police for Donaldsonville, by contract.

Perrilloux Is No Longer Suspended

LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux is no longer suspended, but he is being kept from joining his teammates in spring practice. However, the junior from Reserve will soon be back on the field, and head coach Les Miles says there's a chance Perrilloux will see some playing time in the April 5th spring game in Tiger Stadium.
