Arrest Warrant Issued in Lafayette Shooting
An arrest warrant has been issued for a Saturday night shooting in Lafayette. 21 year-old Alvin James Boudreaux the third is wanted by Lafayette police for attempted first-degree murder. Police say they found the victim Saturday night shot twice at his residence on the three-hunded block of Paul Breaux avenue. He was brought to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators now think the shooting was part of a robbery, and if you know anything about the whereabouts of Boudreaux, you're urged to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS. Lafayette Cop on Patrol Hit By Motorcyclist
A Lafayette Policeman on patrol in his car was hit by a motorcyclist Friday night. According to police, the officer was turning around to see about a stalled car in an opposite lane on Congress near the Cajundome. Police say that Erath man Curtis Stubblefield hit the police car with his motorcycle. The officer sustained minor injuries and Stubblefield had a head injury. The troubles don't end there for Stubblefield, though. He was charged with operating under the influence, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving under suspension. State House Passes Parental Culpability Bill
After heated debate, the House approves a bill that would allow judges to sentence parents to community service for failing to control children who get into trouble with the law. New Orlens Representative Walker Hines says his bill is intended to provide a wake-up call to parents who fail to reign in their kids. Casino Group Says State Will Lose Tax Money with Indoor Smoking Ban
The head of a casino lobbying group says a proposal in the Legislature to ban smoking in casinos in Louisiana would cost the casinos business and the state tax revenue. Casino Association of Louisiana executive director Wade Duty says history has shown that casinos in states that ban smoking at the facilities take a financial hit from which they don't recover. Two bills moving through the legislative process propose banning smoking in bars and casinos in Louisiana.

State Unemployment Claims Jump
Initial claims for unemployment benefits took a 10-point-9-percent jump in Louisiana last week. The state Workforce Commission says there were more than 49-hundred first-time claims for the week.

One Dead In Early Morning Shooting
Baton Rouge police report that officers responded to a shooting about 3:30 Thursday morning in the 1500 block of North Marque Ann Drive where they found a black male lying in a parking lot who had been shot.
