Suspects Sought In Pharmacy Burglary

(Carencro, LA)  --  Carencro Police are looking for the men involved in the burglary of a pharmacy in the 700 block of Veterans Drive.  Authorities say officers responded to an alarm at Melancon's Pharmacy around 4:45 Thursday morning.  Police say controlled medications were stolen.  Authorities say security video shows three black men in a white Chevrolet SUV committing the burglary.

Man Found Dead At Residence

(New Iberia, LA)  --  Iberia Parish deputies are investigating the death of a 54-year-old man whose body was found at his home late Wednesday night.  Investigators say the man, whose name has not been released, appeared to have been attacked and left for dead.  He suffered face and head injuries, but the Coroner's Office has not determined the cause of death.  Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Wendell Raborn says a "person of interest" is being investigated in connection with the case.

New Iberia Man Sought In Shooting

(St. Martinville, LA)  --  Authorities are looking for a New Iberia man in connection with the shooting and sexual assault of a woman in an isolated area of St. Martin Parish.  Sheriff's deputies say 35-year-old Roy Antoine Sigure is wanted for attempted second-degree murder.  Investigators say the woman was found partially clothed in the vicinity of UL-Lafayette's Cade Farm on Smede Highway Wednesday afternoon.  Deputies say she was suffering from four gunshot wounds and appeared to have been sexually assaulted.  She is in stable condition after undergoing surgery.  Investigators say Sigure is considered armed and dangerous.

Cajundome Seeks Additional City-Parish Funds

(Lafayette, LA)  --  Cajundome Director Greg Davis says rising costs and cancelled events have made it necessary to ask the City-Parish to contribute additional funding to the facility for the current fiscal year.  Up to 500-thousand dollars a year in City-Parish subsidies have been available to the Cajundome, but Davis will ask the Cajundome Commission Monday to allow him to ask Lafayette Consolidated Government officials to raise the ceiling to 750-thousand.  The arena recently underwent budget cuts that resulted in layoffs of full-time and part-time employees.

Slain Cab Driver Identified

(Lafayette, LA)  --  Police say the cab driver who was found shot to death Monday night has been identified as 33-year-old Wallace Badeaux [[BADD-oh]] of Lafayette.  Authorities say Badeaux's body was found slumped over in his cab on Fox Run Drive near Verot School Road.  Deputies say witnesses heard a shot fired and saw two people running from the scene.  Investigators say no motive for the shooting has been established.

One Dead In Early Morning Shooting

Baton Rouge police report that officers responded to a shooting about 3:30 Thursday morning in the 1500 block of North Marque Ann Drive where they found a black male lying in a parking lot who had been shot.
