Our Lady of Lourdes and Heart Hospital of Lafayette are pleased to offer a screening test to each of our HeartVantage members to aid in the early detection of coronary artery disease.
The Heart Score CT is a simple, brief and painless CT scan that takes images of the heart at sub-second rates to detect the buildup of calcium, which is a common component in the buildup of plaque inside blood vessels. There are no needles or injections involved. After the study, you are free to return to your regular routine.
Benefits of Heart Score
• Knowing your heart score will detect the amount of calcium buildup earlier than any other test
• It will assist you and your physician in developing an appropriate prevention strategy, including diet and lifestyle changes, medication and/or further testing
• Provide your physician with a screening tool that can measure the progression or regression of calcium buildup
• Reduce the need for other more expensive and invasive tests
• Give you peace of mind
Lourdes and Heart Hospital are offering this screening test at an unprecedented price of only $35 to all HeartVantage members. These tests typically cost over $99.

What does my score mean?
Basically, the score correlates with the risk of coronary artery (cardiovascular) disease. A low score correlates with a low risk of having significant coronary artery disease. An intermediate or high score correlates with coronary disease, possibly with significant obstructive coronary disease. With this test, detection of heart disease is possible before symptoms occur. With this information, your physician can recommend appropriate treatment, including diet and lifestyle changes, medication, and/or further testing. The disease process may then be slowed, halted, or even possibly reversed.
How will I get my results?
One of our Heartvantage nurses will call you with your results within one week of your screening.
